What is Shikisai-no-Oka?
Shikisai-no-Oka is a beautiful “entertainment garden” in Biei Town, Hokkaido.
It is very easy to access, taking just about 12 minutes by car from JR Biei Station.
The garden has colorful flowers from spring to autumn, and a beautiful snowscape in winter.
It also has clean restrooms, vending machines, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Best Photo Spots from the Observation Deck
The best place to take photos is the main observation deck.
From here, you can see the entire garden and the grand Tokachi mountain range.
The peak season for the famous “Rainbow Flower Field” is from mid-July to mid-September.
Flowers like cleomes and salvias cover the hills, making them perfect for Instagram.
